Curfew
The university curfew put in place as a result of rising COVID-19 numbers is not currently in effect. Details for the curfew is as follows:
Effective Friday, March 20, 2020, a university curfew will be in place from 9 pm to 5 am. The BYU–Hawaii campus will be closed to all individuals who are not residents of on-campus housing including the Hales and Temple View Apartments. Residents of on-campus housing must remain in their residence during these hours.
Any non-essential movement outside of residences is prohibited except for travel for medical or approved employment-related purposes. All road entrances to campus will be closed. The main entrance gate will be monitored by Security.
Purpose of the Curfew
The imposition of a curfew for all on-campus residents is to protect the health and safety of university individuals. The curfew will bring a measure of peace-of-mind to residents who are observing safety precautions. It will also assist in:
- Combating the spread of disease.
- Curbing the effects of reckless behavior by members of the campus community.
- Protecting the limited resources available on campus.
Penalties
All violations will be reported to the Office of Honor and violators may be warned or required to leave campus indefinitely.
