Dr. Steven C. Wheelwright, the Edsel Bryant Ford Professor of Business Administration, Emeritus at Harvard Business School, became the ninth president of Brigham Young University Hawaii on June 23, 2007. He reports to the Commissioner of the Church Educational System, Paul V. Johnson, and the CES Board of Trustees, which includes the First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Dr. Max L. Checkets joined the administration in April 2008. He has 30 years of experience in higher Education and CES administration. He reports to President Wheelwright.

Vice President Checketts administers over four academic colleges, library, IT, Enrollment Management and Educational Outreach. He chairs several leadership councils with Academic Council that establishes academic policy.

Michael Bruce Bliss is an experienced professional of over 30 years. He has worked for major corporations in telephony, banking, software development and management, construction and higher education. He was three years at BYU in Provo before joining BYU-Hawaii in 2002 as Vice President of Administrative Services.

In his current position he oversees Financial Services and/Financial Aid, Human Resources, Health Services, Purchasing and Travel, Bookstore and Budget.

Dr. Debbie Hippolite Wright is a Maori who hails from the south island of Aotearoa, New Zealand. Here she received her PhD in Psychology from the University of Waikato. She has practiced for many years as a Social Worker and Marriage and Family Therapist in Aotearoa, Hawai'i, and the U.S. Mainland. She has taught at Brigham Young University Hawai'i in the Social Work Department for 17 years.

Dr. Hippolite Wright currently serves the Vice President for Student Development and Services. She is the administrator over six departments: Career Services/Alumni, Housing, Counseling Services, International Student Services/Student Leadership, the Office of Honor, and Food Services.
